Aims and Objectives
AIM:
To reverse the trend towards local extinction of the Wattled Crane in South Africa.
OBJECTIVES
Maintenance of a captive breeding flock to serve as a genetic reservoir in the case of catastrophic extinction of Wattled cranes in the wild.
Supplementation of the wild population through the release of captive-reared fledglings into existing wild populations.
